VanNoy SCHOLARSHIP

In 1997, at or 30^th reunion, Bud Jenkins requested donations for a scholarship fund. A scholarship would be given from the Class of 1967 to a Whetstone senior. Enough money was raised at that time to give three $250 scholarships. Additional solicitations were made and nine scholarships have now been awarded. These scholarships are in recognition of Norris VanNoy, a teacher of POD at Whetstone for 23 years. He passed away shortly after our 30^th reunion.

The scholarship is awarded to a student with at least a 3.0 cumulative average, shall have taken college preparatory courses, wish to enter the field of education, show college acceptance, and write a 300 word essay explaining why education is his/her chosen field. All information is processed through the Whetstone senior guidance counselor.
